0:34 This could have gone *so* wrong! There is just complete silence and that moment had to be communicated through a look. My goodness. Meryl Streep is a *genius* ! No dialouge. She truly is so brilliant.
Real & beautiful story besides to great acting for Meryl Streep & Dustin Hoffman
😊😮😮😮😮❤
This diatribe is why Frances took this part.
Classy. 🚮 🗑️
I shall be writing a new script on age love sex, already something has been written, but its really funny true that a progressive evolved woman with good inning of creating home hearth children is far more secure and interesting and if she happens to have oopmhy sensuality that is like cherry on cake, cherry though was taken back in time😊 but truth is this only, secure confident is far more attractive.
Mamma Mia Behind the Scenes part 2 of 2
McDormand's monologue is as delusional as to be expected from a women's studies lecturer. In this weird sense, her character is well written, although maybe accidentally. (It feels a bit like the screenwriter/director unconsciously talking to the audience.) "Men are afraid of successful women." Yawn. No, we're not. Success makes a man attractive to women. It doesn't make any woman attractive to any man. (Maybe if he is a mama's boy, but no woman wants one of those, so this is irrelevant.) Success doesn't hurt, either. It just doesn't add anything to the attraction. OTOH, tenderness, kindness and warmth makes a woman attractive to men. It only makes a man more attractive to women as the cherry on top. But only if he first shows all the qualities they associate with success, including the number of other women who want this particular man, too. (This is also well written: All three women are fascinated with Nicholson's character, even the women's studies lecturer.) Men and women look for different qualities. Always have, always will be. Let's just deal with it, okay?
Him constantly saying that he has to leave whenever Erica calls him out on his BS is pathetic on his part.

YO ME APUNTO A SER LA DIANA KEATON. EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO. CON EL CARDIÓLOGO PQ LOS SBTIMIENTOS NO CUMPLEN AÑOS, LO HACEMOS NOSOTROS. Y ES CIERTO QUE TE PUEDES ENAMORAR DE ALGUIEN MAS JOVEN QUE TÚ. TE DÁ VIDA Y VUELVES A SENTIRTE VIVA . Y DOS, NO EMPEÑARSE EN SEGUIR ESTEREOTIPOS, NI DE MUJERES, NI DE HOMBRES. DEJAR FLUIR LOS ACONTECIMIENTOS QUE AL FINAL, ENCONTRAREMOS EL CAMINO. QUÉ RISA CUANDO SE LA ENCUENTRA DESNUDA !!!. Y CUANDO EL NICHOLSON SALE CON EL POMPI AL AIRE. QUE INSPIRA A LA ESCRITORA PARA SU OBRA. CUANDO LE MIENTE CON LA VIAGRA Y LE EMPIEZA EL GOTEO DE SOLINITRINA..... QUÉ PENA, CUANDO VÁ EN BUSCA DE LAS JÓVENES Y LE DAN CON LAVPUERTA EN LAS NARICES, = UN BAÑO DE LA REALIDAD : IBAN A POR TU DINERO. QUÉ NOSTALGIA POR PEDERLA. PERO INSISTE Y LIS CAMINOS SE VUELVEN A CRUZAR PARA SIEMPRE NICHOLSON BORDA TODOS LIS PAPELES QUE LE DEN. SI HUBIERA SIDO PRODUCTORA CINEMATOGRÁFICA, ESTARÍA EN MI NÓMINA. TENGO UNA COLECCIÓN DE SUS PELÍCULAS. POR AHORA, NO MÁS CONENTARIOS.
So I saw an interview with Dustin on K v K , and man oh man, what an ego! Even when he “praises” Streep or Benton , he manages to make it all about HIM. “Benton is a great director, because he observed everything I was doing to coach Meryl off camera, and he would use it in the film” …..or……”Meryl was so great in that final scene , because she was really asking me “how do I look?” not my character .” I love the little digs she gets here, like how Dustin was “crushed” when they wouldn’t use his speech. You can tell there was no love lost !
Meryle Streep is a piece of shit who openly defends and praise Roman Polanski. ill take an egomaniac of Dustin Hoffman rather than a women who supports teenage girls being drugged and sexually assaulted
I like her.
Frances McDormand really showcased how to make a tiny scene so memorable. Even her wink was brilliant. She is an amazing actress.
Well that was really smart not paying attention
Love these guys!!
It's a double standard just like George Clooney 😂
sophisticated assholes
As a kid watching this movie She Devil, the last 30 seconds of this scene is when Meryl Streep became my favourite actress ❤
The end scene was good, but it was also good that she decided to not take away the boy from his father.
Giulio Mucciacito Giulio Mucciacito non è mai stato una persona molto felice nella sua vita
Jack Nicholson was actually 65 when he shot this, and 66 when it was released in 2003.
Wasn't it released in 2002
The poodle chose the wrong time to be adventurous.
How can I watch this film?
Specify the goal and need money
The student aces the teacher...I've always had mixed feelings about Jane Fonda's acting style - not in her talent, which is up to the task, though, like many very good actors (Robert Redford, Julia Andrews) her signature is more a sense of sharp, intelligent timing rather than disappearing within and behind a character (nevertheless she is usually appealing because of the sheer force of her temperament as an actor). In the case of Redford and Andrews they are somehow, always, playing themselves, yet it is so deftly handled that you wouldn't have it any other way. With Fonda, however, there is typically a strain of effort: sometimes the effect is brilliant and singular (as Bree Daniels in Klute - which I count as one of the GREAT screen performances), at other times maddening, troubling but challenging (as Gloria Beatty in 'They Shoot Horses...' ) and sometimes merely technical (there's a moment near the end of 'Coming Home' when she tries to reason with a falling apart Bruce Dern and she holds her hand out in a very stagey [literally - it seems a gesture from a play] way that just seems far too self-conscious. It is this 'thinking intensity' that is evident here, clashing with the 'School of Yale' style of La Streep who seems to be having a certain relaxed casual fun with the role. Granted, Streep can play here something of a caricature (the narcissistic apolitical society bitch) while Fonda has to - forgive the pun - Hellm an entire psychology...but the scene is a master class in the difference not just of the choices made by two actors but of how they think about the total presence of a character in a dramatic moment. One gets the sense that Fonda would agonize even over a light comedic role ('The Electric Horseman') while Streep, despite hours of meditation and preparation, would walk away from a take, breathe twice, and then prepare for the next scene ('Sophie's Choice'). Streep's accent here is peerless - one of her best, and they way she delivers 'I'm sorry he lost his life' and absolutely original approach.
Great analysis. The thing about her temperament, I think that makes her so iconic. She was really one to undertake roles with vigour and torment back then, which reflects the changing place of women in the 70s. That’s what makes the films she was in, in the 70s and 80s, quite exhilarating in their own way.
I still don't get over the disappointing ending on this movie. How could she choose him over the doctor???!!!! Sure, maybe they had great sex once, but there was nothing else to that. Chauvinistic womanizer turns into a sweet, faithful, family man, directly into a grandfather. Ugh. No. Soooooo disappointing.
They both like pancakes what more do you need
@@chinchy111 Keanu must like pancakes too! I'd make Keanu all the blueberry pancakes he wants, or muffins, or cinnamon rolls!
True keanu probably likes them i mean who doesnt like pancakes
Exactly, especially as Jack in the movie is so creepy
He’s handsome 😍♥️😘🎬🎤🎥💯
I miss the days when dryer sheets were in a roll. And actually smelled nice.
“Meryl streel calling”
I was raised in a Sisters of Charity run Catholic school. This movie has captured the feeling to a tee. We never heard of abuse then, but, I don't know that we all would if it happened. Excellent movie and excellent portrayal of a hungry dragon!

Oddly enough, Frances NcDormand is 63 today.
Bad spot to cut it off.
I felt really bad for her in this scene, as a dog owner and lover myself
Yes same here! I own a poodle myself, and I would absolutely react the same way if he jumped off the ledge to his death! Poor little poodle, Mary adored her very much it seems :'(
We were just busting his nuts
2:59 she goes BLABLABLA
Frances Mcdormand gives a great speech and the chemistry between Diane and Jack is magical! I could watch it all day!!
Love Francis small roll perfect like she is
JÚNTATE CONMIGO !!!!!!!
